WHY TENANT PARTICIPATION?

THERE ARE MANY REASONS!

The Housing (Scotland) Act 2001

The Act introduced new legal rights for tenant participation. These are:

• Tenants have the right to receive information from their landlord and be consulted on: housing management, maintenance, complaints policies, rent and service charge reviews.

• Tenant participation is a key aspect of landlord services - all landlords will be required to demonstrate that they meet the new standards set by Communities Scotland.
